It's a button you press, not a wheel type knob that I'm used to. I selected the low brightness, as when I sleep I like a dark room. Even on the low setting the clock lit up the room. Needless to say, I got no sleep that night. Not acceptable for me. Why it only has three brightness settings is beyond me. Also, check this out about the snooze. The first time you tap it, it lets you snooze about 10 minutes, the next time you tap it, it lets you snooze about 20 minutes. Each time you tap the snooze button the time gets longer! Does this even make sense? When you're trying to get up in the morning, why would you want each time you hit the snooze button to be longer? Those two issues are total deal breakers for me so I'm returning the clock. Too bad the description couldn't have been more specific.
